Maha Upasaka Pandita Metta Pannakusuma Parwati Soepangat Soemarto, birthname Parwati Soepangat, was born on May 1, 1932, in Keraton Surakarta and died on July 24, 2016.

She was an Indonesian Buddhist figure.

Soepangat established Wanita Buddhis Indonesia (WBI) in 1973 and became the first chairman of WBI.

Her parents were Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung (KRT) Widyonagoro, Regent of Keraton and Raden Ajeng Soewiyah, a teacher in Sekolah Keraton.

During 1958, Parwati graduated from Gajah Mada University.

She had continued her study in the United States.

Returning to Indonesia, she became a lecturer in Faculty of Psychology in Padjadjaran University and Maranatha Christian University, which located in Bandung.

Parwati Soepangat passed away at 84 years old.
