Patrick “Paddy” Joseph Reid was born on March 17, 1924, in Limerick, Ireland and died on January 8, 2016.
He was an Irish dual-code rugby centre.
He played club rugby under the rugby union code for Garryowen.
Paddy Reid played international rugby for Ireland and was part of the Grand Slam-winning team of 1948.
Following the next season, Reid switched codes, joining professional rugby league side Huddersfield, before ending his league career with Halifax.
In the year 2004, himself and 6 others were inducted into Rugby League Ireland’s inaugural Hall of Fame at the Rugby League Heritage Centre in Huddersfield.
Paddy Reid passed away at 91 yrs old in Limerick, Ireland.
