Patrick “Paddy” Doherty was born in 1926 and and died in 2016.

was a Northern Irish activist from Derry.

As the vice-chairman of the Derry Citizens Defence Association, he played a major role in the events of August 1969 which culminated in the Battle of the Bogside.

He was a leading figure in Free Derry in the years following its establishment.

Paddy Doherty passed away at 89 yrs old.
