Outi Marjatta Ojala was born on June 28, 1946, and died on May 16, 2017.

Ojala served as a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1991 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2007, and as a Member of the European Parliament from 1996 to 1999.
Ojala was President of the Nordic Council in 2002.
