Nicholas Hood, Sr. was born on June 21, 1923, in Terre Haute, Indiana and died on April 10, 2016.
He was an American Congregational minister, Civil Rights activist and politician.
Nicholas was treated for a spinal deformity.
He graduated from Purdue University and then went to North Central College in [Naperville, Illinois]] for one year, in 1945.
He graduated from Yale Divinity School in 1949.
However, he then became the pastor of the Central Congregational Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He served as pastor of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Detroit, Michigan, from 1958 to 1984.
Hood was involved in the civil rights movement in New Orleans and Detroit.
Nicholas served on the Detroit City Council, from 1965 to 1994.
Nicholas Hood passed away at 91 yrs old in Detroit, Michigan.
