Napoleón Nelson Pinedo Fedullo was born on February 10, 1928, and died on October 27, 2016.

He was a singer from Barranquilla, Colombia.

During 1954, he began a five-year career with the Sonora Matancera, a Cuban ensemble which at the time had widespread fame in Latin America.

Pinedo joined together various Colombian songs (porros, cumbias, and maples) into the band’s repertoire—many being adapted to Cuban rhythms such as the Bolero.

He had a stroke two weeks before his death.
