Neculai Alexandru Ursu was born on August 3, 1926, and died on May 14, 2016.

He was a Romanian linguist, philologist, and literary historian.

Neculai Alexandru Ursu graduated from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University and got his Doctorate in Philology in 1967 for his work Formarea terminologiei științifice românești (Formation of the Romanian scientific terminology).

During 2013, Ursu became a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy.

Neculai Alexandru Ursu passed away at 98 yrs old.
