Jaswant Rai Sharma was born on February 24, 1928, and died on January 22, 2017.

He was popularly known by his pen name Naqsh Lyallpuri.

He was an Indian ghazal and Bollywood song writer.

His father was a mechanical engineer and also wanted Jaswant to be an engineer.

His mother died of chickenpox when he was eight.

He published two books; “Teri Gali Ki Taref” is a collection of his non-filmy shayari and “Angan Angan Barse Geet” feature his songs from films, TV serials, and music albums.

Naqsh Lyallpuri passed away at 88 years old.
