Moshe Gershuni was born on September 11, 1936, and died on January 22, 2017.

He was an Israeli painter and sculptor.

As a painter, from the 1980s, Moshe Gershuni expressed a position different from the norm, commemorating The Holocaust in Israeli art.

Also to that, Moshe Gershuni created in his works a connection between bereavement and homoerotic sexuality, in the way he criticized society and Israeli Zionism-nationalism.

Moshe Gershuni was awarded the Israel Prize for Painting for his work in 2003, but in the end it was revoked and he was deprived of receiving the prize.

Moshe Gershuni passed away at 80 years old.
