Ali Squalli Houssaini was born in 1932 in Fez and died on Nov 5, 2018.

He was the author of the lyrics of the National anthem of Morocco, Hymne Chérifien, in 1970.

Ali Squalli Houssaini was also the author of numerous books.

During 1992, Ali Squalli Houssaini received the international prize of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia in children’s literature.

Ali Squalli Houssaini passed away at 86 years old.
