Mohammad Salimi/ سرلشکر محمد سلیمی‎‎ was born on February 2, 1937, and died January 30, 2016.

He was the former commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army.

He was the defense minister in the cabinet of Mir-Hossein Mousavi, replacing Javad Fakoori.

Mohammad was in office from 1981 to August 1984.

Mohammad Salimi was succeeded by Mohammad Hossein Jalali as defense minister.

Although Salimi retired, he was appointed commander-in-chief in May 2000, replacing Ali Shahbazi.

Commander Salimi resigned from office in September 2005.

Salimi was succeeded by Major General Ataollah Salehi as the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army.

After that, he was named as Ali Khamenei’s military advisor on the same date.

Mohammad Salimi passed away at 78 yrs old.
