Mohamed Allek, Algerian athlete, Died at 42

Mohamed Allek was born on August 17, 1974, in Agouni Gueghrane and died on March 8, 2016, in Algiers.

He was a Paralympian athlete from Algeria.

He competed mainly in category T37 sprint events.

He was the winner of the gold medals in the T37 100m and 200m but missed out on a medal in the 400m, in 1996.

After four years in Sydney, Allek made amends and won a clean sweep of the T37 sprint gold medals.

During 2004, Allek was only able to compete in the 200m and only won a bronze.

During the 2008 Beijing games, Mohamed competed in the 100m, 200m and as part of the Algerian 4x100m squad but failed to win any medals for the first time.

Mohamed Allek passed away at 42 yrs old.
