Manuel Cota Soto was born on June 5, 1954, and died on December 22, 2016.

He was a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler.

He was best known under the ring name Mocho Cota.

Cota was Spanish slang for “Amputee”.

During his career, which began in 1979, Cota has held both the Mexican National Welterweight Championship and the NWA World Welterweight Championship.

Cota worked mainly for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre / Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (EMLL / CMLL) throughout his career.

His brother wrestles as Guero Cota and his two sons wrestle as Tigre Cota and Zayco.

He made his professional wrestling debut in 1979.

Mocho Cota passed away at 62 years old.
