Miloslav Vlk was born on May 17, 1932 and died on March 18, 2017.
He was a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of Prague from 1991 to 2010. He was made a cardinal in 1994.
Vlk was also the President of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences (1993–2001).
Vlk spent his childhood in Záluží near Chyšky, where he attended elementary school and experienced the hard labour of farm work.
He served for 18 years as Moderator of the Bishop-Friends of the Focolare Movement.
Miloslav Vlk passed away at 84 years old.
