Mick Finucane, Irish Gaelic football player, Died at 93

Michael “Mick” Finucane was born in 1922 in Lisselton, County Kerry, and died on July 5, 2016.

He was an Irish Gaelic footballer.

Mick played as a left cornerback and left wing-back for the Kerry senior team.

He first excelled at Gaelic football in his youth.

Mick came to prominence with his local club Ballydonoghue before later enjoying championship success with the Shannon Rangers divisional team.

Finucane made his senior debut during the 1946-47 league.

Finucane went on to play a brief role for Kerry on the left-hand-side flank, and won one Munster medal.

Mick Finucane was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.

Whilst he was a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Finucane won one Railway Cup medal.

During his inter-county career, he made 5 championship appearances.

He retired from inter-county football following the conclusion of the 1950 championship.

Mick Finucane passed away at 93 years old.
