Michael V. Gannon was born on April 12, 1927, in Oklahoma and died on April 10, 2017.

He was an American military historian, academic, and former priest and war correspondent.

Michael came from a military family.

When his father died in 1939, his family moved to Florida from Washington, D.C.

Gannon was a student at the St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine, Florida and worked at WFOY-Radio, hosting a call-in show and reading ads, among other duties.

Gannon later had a summer job as an announcer at Marineland when it was a SeaWorld-style attraction south of St. Augustine.

Michael Gannon spent most of his career in Florida.

Michael Gannon passed away at 89 years old.
