Michael Fergus Bowes-Lyon, 18th and 5th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, was born on June 7, 1957, and died on February 27, 2016.

He was a British politician and soldier, and a first cousin, once removed, of Elizabeth II.

He was styled Lord Glamis between 1972 and 1987.

He was the only son of Michael Bowes-Lyon, 17th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, and his wife Mary Pamela, née McCorquodale.

Lord Michael Fergus Bowes-Lyon was the great-nephew of the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and a first cousin, once removed, of Queen Elizabeth II.

He was married three times.

In 1984, Lyon married Isobel Charlotte Weatherall, who is the great-granddaughter of Henry Keswick and sister of businessman Percy Weatherall, Tai-Pans of Jardine Matheson.

The couple were separated in 2003 and were divorced in 2005.

The couple had three children.
