Matti Pulli was born on September 8, 1933, and died on September 24, 2016.

He was a Finnish Olympic ski jumping coach.

Pulli coached the 1984 and 1988 gold medalist Matti Nykänen.

During the biographical film Matti: Hell Is for Heroes, the character of Maisteri was based loosely on Pulli.

He died due to Parkinson’s disease.

Matti Pulli passed away at 83 years old.
