Martin Molony was born on July 20, 1925 and died on July 10, 2017.

He was an Irish jockey.

He first worked as an apprenticed to Martin Hartigan.

After the start of world war II began he returned to Ireland.

Molony rode his first winner for George Harris at the Curragh on merely his third mount.

He was retained by Lord Bicester to ride his horses in England.

Molony regularly commuted between Ireland and England.

Molony had a thirty three per cent strike rate in England.

He won six consecutive Irish Champion Jump Jockey’s titles between 1946 and 1951.

Martin Molony passed away at 91 years old.
