Michael Alexander Lynche was born on May 31, 1983 and died on December 6, 2015.

He was an American singer from St. Petersburg, Florida who was the 4th place finalist in the ninth season of American Idol.

Lynche is the second finalist ever to receive the judges’ save, which was introduced in season 8.

His parents were Michele and Marque Lynche.

He auditioned in Orlando, Florida in July, 2009.

Michael sang Unchained Melody by Alex North to all four judges, including guest judge Kristin Chenoweth.

He was married to Christa, and his daughter Laila Rose.

Lynche was among the top 10 finalists, he was part of the American Idol 2010 summer tour.

On the tour, he song 3-song set included “This Woman’s Work” by Kate Bush, “Ready for Love” by India. Arie, and “My Love” by Justin Timberlake.

Lynche was the lowest vote-getter and would have been eliminated from the competition on April 7, 2010, but the judges used their only save on him.

Lynche was eliminated on May 12, 2010, and finishing in fourth place.

Michael Lynche passed away at 34 yrs old.
