Margaret Nixon McEathron was born on February 22, 1930, and died on July 24, 2016.

She was better known as Marni Nixon,

She was an American soprano and playback singer for featured actresses in movie musicals.

Nixon was best known for dubbing the singing voices of the leading actresses in films, including The King and I, West Side Story and My Fair Lady.

Apart from her voice work in films, Nixon’s varied career included some film roles of her own, television, opera, concerts with major symphony orchestras around the world, musicals on stage throughout the United States, and recordings.

During 1950, Marni Nixon married the first of her three husbands, Ernest Gold, who composed the theme song to the movie Exodus.

The couple had three children, including singer/songwriter Andrew Gold.

They had a divorced in 1969.

Then, she was married to Dr. Lajos “Fritz” Fenster from 1971 to 1975, and to woodwind player Albert Block from 1983 to his death in 2015.

She died due to breast cancer.

Marni Nixon passed away at 86 years old.
