Mario Rudolf Scheuermann, born on August 11, 1948 in Neustadt, and died October 16, 2015.

Mario was a German specialist author in the fields of oenology and cuisine who lived in Lauenburg / Elbe in Hamburg and in Ódorfa, West Hungary.

He is considered a co-founder of the German wine journalism in the 1980s and the wine journalism in Web 2.0.

Mario comes from a maternal Palatine family with a 300-year-old wine – and gastronomy tradition, his father named Horst was a journalist.

He attended the Elector Ruprecht-Gymnasium in his hometown.

During his school years he worked for his school newspaper Warning school, whose founders he belonged.

Mario has published numerous books and essays on wine and culinary art.

Mario has published and presented about “Food, drink, good life” for example Welt / Welt am Sonntag, Capital, DIE ZEIT, Lettre International, Taz, Budapest Times, All About Wine, Vinum, Falstaff, Effilee, longing Germany and Slow Food Magazine.

In 2002 he founded an information portal for wine with “best-of-wine.com” and “talk about wine,” an online wine forum.
