Marianne de Trey was born on November 3, 1913, in London and died on October 18, 2016.

She was a pioneering British studio potter.

Marianne work had a significant impact on the craft’s post World War ll revival.

She was born to Swiss parents, Emma (née Lehmann) and Auguste de Trey.

Marianne graduated from the Royal College of Art London in 1936.

She was a founder member of the Craft Potters Association.

De Treyran a successful pottery at Dartington in Devon for more than 30 years.

De Trey was made a CBE for services to the arts in 2005.

Marianne de Trey passed away at 102 years old.
