Malaysian property developer and racehorse owner, Tan Chin Nam, Died at 92

Dato’ Tan Chin Nam was born on March 18, 1926, and died on October 21, 2018.

He was a Malaysian-born entrepreneur and developer.

Nam’s family is the majority shareholder of IGB Corporation Berhad.

The media reported that Tan Chin Nam one of the richest men in Malaysia and had several companies and businesses.

Tan Chin Nam was a popular as a property developer and was involved in various projects such as Shangri-La Hotel in Malaysia, shopping centers in Singapore and Malaysia, including one of the largest shopping malls in the world, Mid Valley Megamall.

Working in Australia, Nam is responsible for the renovation of Queen Victoria Building (QVB) and Capitol Theatre in Sydney.

Nam was also the owner a number of Australian-based Thoroughbred racehorses.

During 2006, his biography was released and published by MPH Malaysia, is called Never Say I Assume!.

Tan Chin Nam passed away at 92 years old.
