Maha Egodage Jayalal Rohana was born on November 1, 1964 and died on February 11, 2021.

He was popularly known as Jayalal Rohana and was an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre, and Television.

Highly versatile actor from drama to comedy, Maha is also a theatre director, writer, makeup artist and radio play writer.

Maha has won more extraordinary reputation from his bright career as an actor in Television after winning the Best Actor award in Sumathi Awards for Isuru Yogaya.

Maha taught drama and theatre to students as a freelance dramatist in Sri Lanka.

The actor was born in 1964, in Colombo, his father was the Treasurer of the Communist Party in Kotte. Mr Rohana studied at Ananda Sastralaya, Kotte in 1976.

He graduated in Bachelor of Arts from the University of Peradeniya in 2007 and then Masters of Drama and Theater, the University of Kelaniya in 2009.

On December 18, 2018, The actor was immediately hospitalized due to a sudden heart attack.

Many rumours said that he died at the Ragama Hospital, but later denied. Not long after, Rohana posted a video stating that he was alive.

Maha Egodage Jayalal Rohana passed away on February 11, 2021, at 56 years old while receiving treatment at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital, Ragama.
