Luiz Felipe Palmeira Lampreia was born on October 19, 1941, in Rio de Janeiro and died on February 2, 2016.
He was a sociologist and diplomat Brazilian.
His parents were John Gracie Lampreia and Maria Carolina Palmeira Lampreia, a degree in Sociology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 1962.
Luiz joined the Rio Branco Institute in the same year.
Luiz Felipe Lampreia was appointed third secretary in November 1963, was ambassador in Paramaribo ( Suriname ), in Lisbon ( Portugal ) and Geneva ( WTO and other international organizations).
Lampreia was Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry (1992-1993) and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso from 1995 to 2001.
Lampreia was also associate professor of International Relations of ESPM-Rio .
Luiz was linked to the Brazilian Center for International Relations (Cebri) a think tank of international relations, which was emeritus vice president.
He was the chairman of the International Relations Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro ( FIRJAN).
Also, Luiz was a member of the boards of several international consulting firms in strategic planning, as McLarty Associates and Oxford Analytica, industrial companies, as Partex Oil and Gas, Souza Cruz and Coca-Cola, and the Portuguese bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos.

Luiz Felipe Palmeira Lampreia passed away at 74 yrs old due to a cardiac arrest.
