Luis Olmo was born Luis Francisco Rodríguez Olmo on August 11, 1919, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and died on April 28, 2017.

He was a major league baseball outfielder and right-handed batter.

He played in the majors with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1943–45, 1949) and Boston Braves (1950–51).

Luis debuted with the Dodgers on July 18, 1943.

During 57 games, Luis batted .303 with four home runs and 37 RBI.

Olmo gained regular status in the next season, batting .258 with nine home runs and 85 RBI in 136 games.

Luis Olmo passed away at 97 years old.
