Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Italian architect, Died at 102

Luigi Caccia Dominioni was born on December 7, 1913, in Milan, Italy, and died on November 13, 2016.

He was an Italian architect and furniture designer.

Luigi graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan.

During the World War II, Luigi Caccia Dominioni served in the Italian army, but in 1943 he refused to join the Italian Social Republic and escaped in Switzerland.

When the war was over, Caccia Dominioni opened his professional study and in 1947 he co-founded with two friends “Azucena”, a company specialized in producting handmade design objects and furniture.

He designed many buildings in Milan, notably curing the internal restructuring of the Biblioteca and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

Caccia Dominioni also designed the Parc Saint Roman, a skyscraper in Monaco.

Also to that, Caccia Dominioni designed furniture like “lamps, armchairs, handles, and design objects.

Luigi Caccia Dominioni passed away at 102 years old.
