Lucina Elena da Costa Gomez-Matheeuws was born on April 5, 1929, and died on January 7, 2017.
She was a Dutch Antillean politician for the National People’s Party (PNP).
Gomez-Matheeuws served as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles, an office her husband Moises Frumencio da Costa Gomez previously held, briefly in 1977.
Gomez-Matheeuws was also the first female to hold the office.
Before that, she was the Minister of Health and Environment, Welfare, Youth, Sports, Culture and Recreation (1970–1977).
Lucina da Costa Gomez-Matheeuws passed away at 87 years old.
