Louis Jay “Lou” Pearlman was born on June 19, 1954, and died on August 19, 2016.

He was an American record producer and fraudster.

Lou was the manager of successful 1990s boy bands such as Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

During 2006, Lou was accused of running one of the largest and longest-running Ponzi schemes in history, leaving more than $300 million in debts.

After he was apprehended, Lou pleaded guilty to conspiracy, money laundering, and making false statements during a bankruptcy proceeding.

During 2008, Lou Pearlman was convicted and sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.

Pearlman died in federal custody in 2016.

Lou Pearlman passed away at 62 years old.
