Leonid Keldysh was born on April 7, 1931, and died on November 11, 2016.

He was a Russian physicist.

He was a professor in the I.E. Tamm Theory division of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow.

Keldysh was known for the Keldysh formalism, a quantum mechanics framework for describing a system in a non-equilibrium state.

During 2009, he was awarded the Rusanoprize, an international nanotechnology award, for his work related to molecular beam epitaxy.

Leonid Keldysh passed away at 85 years old.
