Lennart Häggroth, Swedish ice hockey player, Died at 76

Hans Lennart Häggroth was on March 2, 1940, and died on August 28, 2016.

He was a Swedish ice hockey goaltender.

Lennart Häggroth won himself a world and other European titles in 1962, finishing second at the 1963 World Championships and 1964 Olympics.

He was a back-up for Kjell Svensson, and hence capped only 65 times for the national team between 1960 and 1965.

Prior to the 1962 World Championships, Svensson got injured, but Häggroth did fine, helping win the tournament and becoming its best goaltender.

Following him retiring from hockey Häggroth became a social worker, helping drug addicts and alcoholics.

He died at his home.

Lennart Häggroth passed away at 76 years old.
