Ernest Jackson Lawson Soulsby, Baron Soulsby of Swaffham Prior was born on June 23, 1926, and died on May 8, 2017.

He was a British microbiologist and parasitologist.

During 1990 Soulsby was made a Conservative life peer and sat in the House of Lords until his retirement in December 2015.

He was also veterinary surgeon to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

He has published 14 books, as well as articles in various veterinary journals.

During 1962, he got married to Annette Williams.

Soulsby’s granddaughter Kananu Kirimi is an actress.

He died at his home in Swaffham.
