Laura Cha-Yu Liu was born on July 19, 1966, in Carbondale, Illinois and died on April 17, 2016.

She was an American state appellate court judge.

She grew up in Austintown, Mahoning County, Ohio.

During 1987, Liu received her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and her law degree from University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1991.

Liu practiced law in Chicago, Illinois, from 1991 to 2010.

During 2010, She was appointed Illinois Circuit Court judge for Cook County, Illinois.

Later, Liu was appointed to the Illinois Appellate Court, in 2014.

Laura Liu passed away at 49 yrs old.
