Lau Wong-fat, Hong Kong businessman and politician, Died at 80

Lau Wong-fat was born on October 15, 1936, in the village of Lung Kwu Tan, Tuen Mun, New Territories and died on July 23, 2017.
He was a Hong Kong businessman and politician.
Wong-fat had been the long-time chairman of the Heung Yee Kuk, the most powerful organ representing the interests of the New Territories indigenous inhabitants from 1980 to 2015.
Lau was also a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1985 to 2016.
From 2009 to 2012 Wong-fat was a non-official member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong.
Lau had also served as the member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Regional Council and the Tuen Mun District Council.
Lau Wong-fat passed away at 80 years old.
