Latvian musician, Valters Frīdenbergs, Died at 30

Valters Frīdenbergs died on October 17, 2018.

He was a Latvian musician.

Valters and Kaža, sometimes spelt Walters and Kazha was a Latvian duo.

The group represented their homeland in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.

The group chooses the slow ballad-like song, “The War Is Not Over”, finished in 5th place despite having a considerably large lead at some point during the voting.

Both members real names are Valters Fridenbergs and Kārlis Būmeisters.

During the semi-final, held two days before the finals, Valters and Kaža qualified in 10th place.

However, Valters ended up losing his voice at the after-party.

At the show during dress rehearsal, he did not sing during the entire song.

Valters sang at the live final, although they sang one of the final parts one octave lower than they should.

He made a solo effort to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 but did not make it to the Latvian finals in the town of Ventspils in March.

The pair, Valters, and Kaža both served as the Latvian commentary for the 2011 Contest.

In addition to that Valters presented the voting results on behalf of Latvia at the 2012 Contest and 2010 contest.

He passed away at 30 years old.
