Latifur Rahman was born on March 1, 1936 and died on June 6, 2017.

He was the 10th Chief Justice and the 2nd Chief Adviser of Bangladesh.

He had become the Chief Justice on 1 January 2000 and retired from the position on 28 February 2001.

Rahman was the chief adviser of the caretaker government from 15 July 2001 to 10 October 2001 which oversaw the eighth parliamentary election in Bangladesh.

He died at Samorita Hospital in Dhaka.

Latifur Rahman passed away at 81 years old.
