Lady Marion Anne Fraser LT (née Forbes) was born on October 17, 1932, and died on December 25, 2016.

She was a Scottish music educator.

She was the daughter of Robert Forbes and Elizabeth Taylor Watt.

She was educated at Hutchesons’ Girls’ Grammar School (Glasgow), the University of Glasgow (M.A.), and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

As a student at Glasgow, Lady Marion Fraser was elected President of the Queen Margaret Union.[citation needed]

During 1956, Lady Marion Fraser married William Kerr Fraser, a former President of the Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council and at the time a junior civil servant at the Scottish Office.

Lady Marion Fraser went on to become Permanent Secretary there, and later Principal and then Chancellor of the University of Glasgow.

Together they had four children, three sons, and one daughter.

She died at St Columba’s Hospice, Edinburgh.

Lady Marion Fraser passed away at 84 years old.
