Krystyna Waleria Sienkiewicz was born on February 14, 1935, in Ostrów Mazowieckaand died on February 12, 2017.

She was a Polish actress and singer.

While her family originally came from Grodno, she was born on February 14, 1935 in Ostrów Mazowiecka.

Krystyna Sienkiewicz’s parents died during the World War II (her father was murdered in Oranienburg concentration camp, mother died after an illness).

During 1945, Krystyna was adopted by her aunt and moved to Szczytno.

During 1957, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

She debuted as an actress two years earlier, on 1 September 1955 at the Studencki Teatr Satyryków (STS; Student’s Theatre of Satirists).

Krzysztof Teodor Toeplitz, the famous Polish movie critic, described her as a pink phenomenon of STS (różowe zjawisko STS-u).

During 1958, her first movie role was Farewells by Wojciech Has.

Due to that moment, she went on to appear in more than 20 movies, including Jutro premiera (1962), Lekarstwo na miłość (1967) and Rzeczpospolita Babska (1969).

During her theatrical career, Krystyna Sienkiewicz was an actress of: Ateneum Theatre, TR Warszawa, Polish Theatre in Poznań, Theatre of Wola, Rampa Theatre, Finestra Theatre and Warsaw’s Comedy Theatre.

She received the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis, in 2007.

Sienkiewicz died in Warsaw, two days before her 82nd birthday.

Krystyna Sienkiewicz passed away at 81 years old.
