Kong Jaw-sheng was born on March 29, 1955, in Guanshan, Taitung and died on March 18, 2016.

He was a Taiwanese banker.

Kong served as the first chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission from 2004 to 2006.

He worked for the Development Bank of Singapore from 1983 to 1987 before leaving to found the Taiwan branch of the Lehman Brothers.

Kong Jaw-sheng then led the Taiwan sector of Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, which was acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston.

Mr. Kong left CSFB to chair the Taiwan Sugar Corporation.

Kong Jaw-sheng passed away at 60 yrs old, due to a heart attack.
