Klaus Siebert was born on April 29, 1955, and died on April 24, 2016.
He was a German biathlete and biathlon coach who raced for East Germany.
Klaus Siebert won a silver medal in the relay with the East German relay team, during the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.
He has won two gold medals with the East German relay team in 1978 and 1979 in the Biathlon World Championships and a bronze medal from 1977.
In 1978, Klaus also has three individual medals gold medal from the 20 km and in 1975 and 1978 two bronzes from the 10 km.
When he retired from the competition he became a coach.
Siebert has coached in Germany, China and Belarus.
Klaus Siebert returned to his coaching role with the Belarusian national biathlon team in January 2012 after spending much of the previous year ill with cancer.
But, Siebert stepped down from this role ahead of the 2014-15 season due to health issues.
He died in Altenberg, Germany after a long battle with cancer.
Klaus Siebert passed away at 60 yrs old.
