Kim Seong-jip, South Korean weightlifter, Died at 97

Kim Seong-jip was born on January 13, 1919, and died on February 20, 2016.

He was a weightlifter from South Korea.

Kim competed for South Korea in the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, United Kingdom in the flyweight event where he finished in third place.

Following that he competed for South Korea in the 1952 Summer Olympics, 1956 Summer Olympics where he finished in third and fifth respectively.

Seong-jip was the first person to have won the same medal at two continuous Summer Olympics games for South Korea.

Kim Seong-jip passed away at 97 yrs old.
