Kim Plainfield was born on March 24, 1954, in the San Francisco Bay area and died on April 8, 2017.

He was an American jazz drummer.

He has performed with Bill Connors and Pointer Sisters, among others.

He relocated from to New York City 1977, where he started his musical career with numerous show and studio recordings.

Since 2002, he was an Associate Professor für Drums and Percussion at Berklee College of Music.

He opened workshops and lessons in Europe, e.g. in Switzerland and the Czech Republic a few times per year.

Kim Plainfield passed away at 63 years old.
