Khalid Mahmood Mithu was born in 1960 and died on March 7, 2016.

He was a Bangladeshi film director.

Khalid was the winner Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for his direction of the film Gohine Shobdo (2010).

His mother Begum Momtaz Hossain Mithu was a scriptwriter.

Khalid Mahmood Mithu was the nephew of the film director Alamgir Kabir.

He was a student of was in Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka (Charukola).

The director directed his play Dhusor Album in 1993.

During 2010, Khalid Mahmood Mithu directed the film Gohine Shobdo which earned him the national film award.

His second film Jonakir Alo was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2014, but was not nominated.

The painter Kanak Chanpa Chakma, was his wife.

Mithu was killed by a falling tree on in Dhanmondi Thana, Dhaka.

Khalid Mahmood Mithu passed away on March 7, 2016.
