Kenneth Matiba was born on June 1, 1932, and died on April 15, 2018.
He was a Kenyan politician and an activist for democracy.
Matiba was placed in second place in the 1992 presidential election.
In November 2007, Matiba announced that he would stand as a presidential candidate in the December 2007 election.
He placed seventh, with 8,046 votes.
During 2000 he released his autobiography, Aiming High.
Since 2010 Matiba lived in Riara Ridge, Rironi (near Limuru), with his wife, Edith.
Together they had a son, Raymond, is a former chairman of the Kenya Tourist Board.
He died on 15 April 2018 at the Karen Hospital after a long illness.
He was buried at his hometown in Kiangima in Kahuhia area of Murang’a County.
He died at 85 years old.
