Kenneth Silverman, American biographer, Died at 81


Kenneth Eugene Silverman was born on February 5, 1936 and died on July 7, 2017.

He was an American biographer and educator.

Silverman won a Pulitzer Prize and a Bancroft Prize for his 1984 biography of Cotton Mather, The Life and Times of Cotton Mather.

He specialized In Colonial American literature.

He was a professor of English at New York University until his retirement in 2001.

He died of lung cancer in Manhattan.

Kenneth Silverman passed away at 81 years old.
