Ken Ackerman, American radio announcer, Died at 94

Ken Ackerman was born in 1922 and died on May 28, 2017.

He was an American radio announcer, disc jockey, and news anchor.

He grew up in Sacramento, began announcing as a student at Grant Union High School.

Following a brief stint at KFBK Ken joined KCBS (then KQW) in 1942.

His trademark introductions, includes live bands playing on Friday and Saturday Nights from the Palace Hotel, where the KCBS studios were located until 1971: “…live and direct for your listening pleasure from the Rose Room at San Francisco’s famous Palace Hotel.

Ken Ackerman passed away at 94 years old.
