Karl Stirner was born in 1923 and died on February 18, 2016.

He was an internationally exhibited German-born American sculptor.

Stirner’s original hometown of Easton, Pennsylvania honored the artist by naming the “Karl Stirner Arts trail” after him.

Whilst he was an art professor, Karl taught at Swarthmore college and the Tyler School of Art.

During 1956, the Delaware Art Museum held an exhibition of his metalwork.

The sculptor work was shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, James A. Michener Art Museum and the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, N.J., among others places.

His sculptures were the legend of an exhibition at the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, entitled “Transformations II: Works in Steel” it ran from March 16 – June 16, 2013.

Karl Stirner passed away at 92 yrs old.
