Karel Mejta was born on June 18, 1928, and died on November 6, 2015.

He was a Czech rower who competed for Czechoslovakia in the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Karel was born in Třeboň and is the father of Karel Mejta, Jr.

In 1952 he was a crew member of the Czechoslovak boat which won the gold medal in the coxed fours event.

Karel passed away at age 87 in November 2015.
