K. Madhavan was born on August 26, 1915, in Kanhangad in north Kerala, and died on September 25, 2016.
He was an Indian freedom fighter and Communist leader from Kerala, India.
At school, he joined the Salt Satyagraga (Salt March) to be the youngest of the volunteers under the leadership of K. Kelappan.
Madhavan was arrested and sent to jail on six months’ rigorous imprisonment, on August 20, 1930
Which was the beginning of his active involvement in politics.
Then later himself along with many members of the radical socialist group of the Congress party he quit the parent organisation and joined the Communist Party of India where he still continues.
K. Madhavan autobiography ‘Payaswiniyude Theerangalil'(On the Banks of river Payaswini) is considered a valuable document of a transformative epoch in modern Kerala history.
K. Madhavan passed away at 101 years old.
